Feng Shuii Tips for old oil paintings/ storing restoring The paintings on your wall is what we hardly think about. once bought with so much love and paying hefty sums we hang the original oil paintings on the most prestigious place of the wall and then it hangs there for years and years.

Today I am sharing the paintings on your wall energy as the years go by how they accumulate negative energy and then gradually keep spreading this poison arrows towards you and everyone viewing it. 

while the home and every furniture is dusted and cleaned we feel art must not be touched. And the painting also does not show any signs of dust even after years. what you notice is a mellowing of colours, subdued tones and we feel this is natural. 

With painting since the past twenty years I have seen so much on art, I have repainted canvasses, I have torn and burnt them, reused, recycled, upcyled and even framed so many that my house is a mini art gallery!

Feng Shuii Tips for old oil paintings

1) Like everything else oil paintings need to be cleaned. If you know how to clean oil paintings do it, if not take professionals help (sharing here in this post how to clean oil paintings at home)  do not tell your maid to clean the costly wall artworks. 

2) It is good to once in a while remove all art from wall and give the wall time to breathe free. This is my practical experience since I have art as old as year 2000.  You will not even know mildew may develop, pests and spiders may make home in the wood canvas paintings and even ants or mites may feats on the original costly art! simply follow this step to save your precious oil paintings. 

3) Empty walls need to be space cleared using feng shuii purification techniques before reinstalling the artworks on wall. Once you remove all the frames you will notice the wall feel heaviness, I do. It is good to space clear by wiping off dust, insects, cobwebs if formed, burning incense or letting the wall breathe for a day is good. This helps remove stagnant energy that may be embedded in nooks and corners. 

4) For activating chi it is good to reshuffle oil paintings and hang them in different spaces. This is a wonderful way to activate fresh chi in your home. You can change places of your old paintings and you will feel a fresh surge of newness, new energy into the room.

I have tried this and it feels really great! you see the painting in a fresh perspective, new light, newness comes to your room, and just with shuffling your paintings.

 5) Avoid hanging torn, cracked, broken frames, chipped frame, scratched paintings. Restore them, heal them, repaint them, repair them and then hang them back. Because such cases of art produce negative energy and keep hurting your soul indirectly every time they are viewed. Seriously affecting your life sectors where ever they are hung and in general bringing downfall to your life and those around you.
Major issue, neglect and hardly people notice the frame has got chipped, or the painting has been scratched. this will have an effect on the resale value of your precious artworks. (check my You Tube channel the Red Pilgrim for artists struggles as stepping stones)

Storing acrylic paper paintings procedure-
1) they are tacky and always will be. storing acrylics is a major issue as they stick together if stacked one over the other. And if you are like me, an obsessive painter, I have more than two thousand artworks, many on paper, then I seriously needed to save them!
2) Applying gently talcum powder with a soft brush helps a lot.
3) clean the artwork, apply talcum powder, dust more on the sticky portions of the painting.
4) Dust off as much as possible, smoothen it with soft muslin cloth, dabbing in. Remember not to have too much powder as it will make the art look muddy and dull.
5) Store paper paintings in folders of not more than fifteen in one folder, so that they do not have much load.
6) Horizontally storing is an issue unless you have drawers for every folder. Vertical is best as they get space to breathe.
7) for canvas boards painted in acrylics keep thermocol pieces in between each canvas board so that the edges do not get scratched.
For storing restoring old oil paintings Feng Shuii-
lots of dust, visible and invisible accumulates on the oil paintings.
The wall paintings get energy accumulated by viewers, people glancing at them, touching them, maybe scratching them accidentally or intentionally,(my wall art has faced this all) as the temptation to touch original art is too much to stop!
1) as mentioned above removing, reshuffling and space clearing procedures apply for oil paintings too.
2) Large canvas oil paintings need to be restored for healing their scratches or travel abuse effects.Yes, while in transport too the oil paintings accumulate stress and bumps, jerks which affects its energy.
3) If you have bought it from a gallery, from artist, from sale, from art dealer art agent, will have an effect in the energy stored by the artwork and this will transmit into your space.

If you are an artist you know how to handle precious artworks. please don't try this at home if you are not aware of how to Handle precious canvasses. Especially do not give this to your maid to clean framed oil paintings. They may scratch it off too much making you lose a fortune!
How to clean oil paintings at home
1) Prepare the canvas oil painting by wiping off physical dust, cobwebs, grime, with dry muslin cloth.
2)take Bisleri mineral water. dip soft muslin cloth and with gentle strokes start to clean the canvas. Remember do not make large strokes of swift wipes. Small gentle strokes to clean precious oil paintings. 
3) let the oil painting dry fully. thoroughly dry the artwork naturally as wet painting will accumulate mold growth and attract pests doing the painting permanent damage.
4) If you are aware of varnishing technique then a fresh coat of varnish will help conserve, restore old art.
5) Regularly do this in few years or get this done professionally to maintain the health of your old precious oil paintings on wall. To keep the Feng Shuii active.

Why function/gatherings? this is a large amount of energy coming in your space. There may be so many people, children, elders, friends, colleagues, and even Not SO WELL WISHERS! It is all about energy symbolism in healing and Reiki. While each day your houses/office is mopped and cleaned you feel the energy is purified. but there are hidden negative energies that  cunningly find corners and spaces below furniture, dark corners, and make themselves at home! what happens then? you feel uneasy, there may be little arguments which can lead to bigger ones. Children fall sick, people get prone to accidents. Wealth losses and sudden surge in depressive thoughts or low feelings.

 Any amount of medicines will not help as these negative energies are working upon you and enjoying this! Burning incense helps. Cleaning all objects and furniture helps. But they are stuck up, will not leave easily.

Your Pet, the most precious family member who welcomes you with so much love, have you thought of giving them your side of love?
Beginning with importance of wall art in your pet's room- Did you notice your pet also has their own choices and their own mind. Most pets,e specially dogs and cats love to have their own private space. We care for them and have the special place made up for them. This is home for them, its a place to relax, rest, take a nap or sulk when not in mood.
While some large homes have special rooms for pets, there are also loving homes that give their pets a special corner of their living room or kitchen. Wall colours and art on the wall will definitely have an effect on your pet's health and behavior.
While sending distance Reiki to a pet dog, (i have birds) I came to understand the symbolism and importance of pet rooms. After reading on the subject, understanding, yes, room colors and wall art does affect your pet health.
Usually people choose dark colours to keep the room clean. It is important to understand what colors your pet loves. This you will know by keeping colours in their room, try toys, pillows, artworks, of strong reds and orange colors, you will see their behavior becomes irritable.  Then the colour brown  and black also has an adverse effect on some pet dogs. Having too much reds in their  rooms must be avoided.

Remember to keep everything in limit, and organized, this will affect your pet's health and mentality.

Visitors, extra stimulation, outside influences and negative energy can come from any source for your pet. Usually after the visitors go, especially if there are children, we see pets become lonely and dull. Here Feng Shuii purification, space clearing will help your pet to feel normal soon.

Children's room Feng Shuii is so important and we all know how tiny tots rooms are always in a mess and will drain off your energy everyday! Lately have become a fan of Marie Kondo on Netflix. The series so very well played and with so much practical advice for those who want to receive it. Its all about the "C" word Clutter, but in the process your whole life gets organized. My home also is going through a major organization and though my wardrobe and other kitchen sectors have been regular updated, the advice surely gave another beautiful perspective to my artists studio. especially my artworks. Thousands and too many, but thank God now taking charge of this!
main principle- clutter is not waste items only, they may be beautiful items but have not been used for months or years, let go of these. And also removing some things makes space for fresh energy and new opportunities in life and relationships is important that you keep things related to your child's age. Collection of tiny tot toys even when you have a grown up teen is not so much of a good feng shuii! And also we see that people store tiny tots and small children's clothes (yes, even i had!) maybe in the hope of using them for next kids in line. But how long? that's the point here! a year or two, not fifteen years! and you get such beautiful new born goodies on first cry.
My take on Feng Shuii for children's rooms! -
For precious memories we do keep some clothes or maybe the first pair of booties of your new born, I have also, but most of them I have now removed. Point to be noted- we always have to buy new clothes for tiny tots and old clothes cannot be used , unless of course they are precious hand overs through generations like a lucky scarf and very priced possessions.
 About children's room- Even though small children have so much fun the whole day, at the end of the day the chore , to assemble the clothes, toys, books, games, eatables is a very tiring task for moms and maids!

Ba Gua Luck Feng Shuii Painting Happiness

1) I would suggest even when you have maids and baby care takers please do step into your child's room and do at least a few things to keep the motherly energy in your child's room.It is very important to keep the parents touch in your children's room, this helps in bonding well with your child.
2) For their clothes, get a wardrobe solution that has enough shelves to keep everything organized. Searching for baby socks need not be a difficult task everyday! As for folding washed clothes, do remember the Marie Condo method, triple folds, neatly and then stack in the boxes.
3) Boxes and storage solutions help a lot in organizing children's clothes.You also get online storage solutions, bright, trolley wardrobes with wheels and even with a fancy colourful closer. We avoid open shelves in Feng Shuii as it accumulates dust.
4) Have the toy storage at lower level so that as your child grows you can get them int eh habit of assembling their own toys at the end of the day.
5) Art in your child's room must be bright, colorful and uplifting. Please do not hang landscapes of sceneries and galloping horses paintings in your child's room. people most often buy art for all rooms together , not giving much thought to the children's room.
So as you visit their home you see these standard artworks. galloping horses in living room, rainy thundering landscape with couple walking in rain on the  bedroom wall,  and flowers or birds in soft shades in child's room.
Art in your children's room can be so much more when given a thought to! I do advice that your child's age is most important when selecting artwork for their room.
1) very tiny tots , new born need soothing colour palette artworks. Too many bright and energy colors will disturb their sleep and make them cranky and irritable.
2) Avoid large sized artworks for children's rooms. From their perspective the paintings look huge and even if its a floral painting, remember it is a huge flower for them, for their size, and their eyes! they will tend to get sacred of the art.
3) For six months to a year your child is communicating with you through gestures and babbling sounds. they look at colors, go in for some bold and some soothing, a mixture of color palette artworks. You can add some amount of small reds and oranges but still be careful not to have a strong energy painting of only reds and orange colours. Go for a mix of purples, blues, red, oranges, peaches and rosy colours. Each colour heals.
4) With art you can go in for baby theme wall papers. That's the trend you see, but remember to choose carefully. For the small baby they do not know Noddy and Pokeman or Shaktimaan or Spider-man and Batmen. Those superhero wall papers and stickers are for a somewhat grown up kids room. Usually small children get scared at night with such masked figures on walls.
5) Very important, choose art from your child's point of view. I know its difficult to control the urge to choose what you have liked since childhood and not got,and you are tempted to go for that theme to decorate your tiny tots room. but take  a pause here, a breath, and think at the age of your baby. their perspective is different and their likes may be totally different!and how will you come to know this? show them colors, objects, fruits, photographs of things people objects, I am sure they respond differently and this is enough for you to understand what they love and what they get scared off!~If in confusion go for neutral shades on walls and choose geometric art of harmony of colors.
(in geometric art, no pointed shapes, no poison arrows, no subjects of aggression, no complicated themes, ...well that's a totally new topic , vast topic, loads of information again!)

Feng Shuii for Lilac BedRooms 

Lilac bedrooms, thought the colour is soothing , it has its qualities of bringing down the energy. Royalty is symbolized by deep purple and unless you have some dark and bold accents your lilac bedrooms will with some time become depressing and make you feel tired and unwell.
Though there are umpteen shades and hues with the lilac colour, and I do not have a personal liking for this as it has the tendency to pull me down inwards, too much. Harmony in colors is important. Where there is Yin it must be balanced and uplifted with Yang!
What you need to do!
1) if possible change the color of your bedroom. DIY! yes, you get to paint easily in case the budget to repaint goes off board for you at present. One wall can be darkened. Two walls can be of opposite color scheme. Lots of options here within budget to change the energy  of your lilac bedroom instantly. 
2) Wall Paper magic! Affordable DIY stickers, wall decals and wall papers, choose and apply. Nowadays its become a one day job to put up some beautiful wall papers and hide one wall or all with this. Though remember this, don't choose a lilac colour print wall paper! it will not serve your purpose! and avoid too much white also. go for colours, pastels and toned down if you are not the bold color lover.
3) Add lights. Correct lighting will uplift the energy of your bedroom creating some romantic ambiance. Do not go overboard with too many fancy lights, remember the energy for bedrooms must be relaxing and uplifting your spirits. Avoid any light fixtures above your bed and sleeping area.
4) Did you check for mirrors, never use mirrors to reflect lilac barren walls. Whatever reflects multiplies, remember this Feng shuii mantra. Choose focal points that are energy enhancers to reflect in the mirror. I personally am not//never in favour of mirrored head rest boards for beds avoid this, it hurts relationships too much. Have a secure head board and avoid lilac. Head boards need to bring strength and supportive energy.
5) In Feng Shuii  Masters always advise to avoid plants in bedrooms. A small pair of Chinese Bamboos never hurt! and green the colour of health and wealth will bring out energy over the lilac softness.

7) I do understand bedrooms must be quiet rooms  to relax but I disagree with this. Your bedroom will affect your life. What you see while you go to sleep and the first thing you see when you wake up is very very important for the way your life, relationships and work, success progresses.
You surely don't want to wake up to a barren lilac wall!

It is Best to follow the Ba Gua for guidance , it never goes wrong. I have seen simple little things help sort out energies and bring good feng shuii. Colours, objects, art, all success formulas!

4) Plants have always been my best bet for so many feng shuii issues and almost never let me down. Of course the right ones and in correct numbers in the right feng shuii sector! Choose plants that will grow healthily in your environment. no point in adding costly ones that go limp in few days! Here, you will notice that the environment heavy with negative energy will almost kill any life form. so you may find dead fishes in aquariums and dead plants whichever you add. Do not give up hope. keep adding fresh ones to help harmonize the energy faster. You will notice changes in few days or few months depending upon the negative energy in your environment. And the source of negativity.
5) Take responsibility of your home feng shuii. You being a mother or father of the family has to keep a watch on the home feng shuii repeatedly within every few months. The most important one. rule for life feng shuii. Things will need to be worked and reworked and feng shuii is for life. A continuous journey and not just adding a few feng shuii cures once and hoping it will keep working for life!
