There are certain principles to be followed when living in duplex homes in feng shui and if followed will lead to a peaceful and harmonious life. Usually according to feng shui we prefer staying as close to the earth as possible for better living because the connection with the ground is best for healthy living. As far above the ground the earth energy reduces and it will affect your health in long term. Also you when have your living room above level will come from the main door and use the stairway, this will leave the ground floor without much positive energy and it will suffer from remaining unclean and lacking chi. This will also form divisions among the family members as the people who have their bedrooms above level will come directly and move above without interacting with the rest of the family members.

Divide your rooms for use judiciously according to feng shui principles demarcating the areas of five elements. It is preferable to have the living room as close to the main door as possible. This welcomes positive chi form the main door into your home and with the guests comes positive energy inside your home. Remember to have the most important rooms, the kitchen and dining room at a higher level because otherwise when people and friends visit they will bring positive energy to the ground level only and the rest of the home will remain without much of positive energy chi. So it is advisable to have a larger dining or kitchen area where all can meet and converse. Try to avoid having living room on a higher level because as your guests leave they will also take away the energy they bring when they leave.

Poison arrows or shars have been frequently mentioned in feng shui and these have to be cured otherwise they create serious problems in your life and may even lead to severe losses in finances and ill health. Shars are poison arrows that is any object, person or place that is not in harmony with nature wand has an negative effect on your mind is termed as a shar.

Back Door Importance and Significance in Feng shui

In feng shui the back door is considered very good as the Chinese believe the energy needs to flow into the house from the mouth, main door and have space or outlet to make the negative energy flow out. Having two doors are auspicious in feng shui but the placement of both doors are very important.

Your back door must not be directly opposite to your main door. Chi will move very fast and will not get time to remain into your home or office. This is bad for your home and the inmates will suffer from health problems and material losses as well as financial losses. Here you can remedy this with simple feng shui cure like placing a screen or divider in between the two doors that will direct the wind to flow in a curved manner which is very good feng shui.

The main door must be larger than the back door. The door is symbolic of wealth coming in from main door and going out from back door. If the back door is larger this will lead to material as well as increased financial expenditure and also losses. Similarly the main door also should not be too large as this will be like a big mouth and will need extra effort form your part to keep a balance with your finances and expenditure. The doors should be in proportion to your house walls and rooms. The back door can have a small kitchen garden to further encourage chi to hang on a little more without moving out swiftly from your house. This will not only keep the area at the back of your house well maintained but also give you the benefit of having healthy vegetables and fruits.

Back doors should not have any shars , just like the front door. Here you must not have another door facing directly as well as hanging wires or over head electricity poles. It is also not good to have connected back doors with other people as chi gets confused and there is always a possibility of the negative energy coming out form your neighbours entering through your back door right in to your haven. Even plants and trees that have sharp trunks that face towards your back door  produce shars or poison arrows that will affect your peace and health.

You can place a mirror to reflect back the negative shar or put up plants that move swiftly with the breeze , this will neutralize any negative energy and convert it into positive life giving energy force. Avoid single trees or plants near your back door always put plants in a group, as a single plant or big tree in itself produces a shar which is felt by everyone. Keep the back door also clean as you pay attention to the front main door. Never accumulate clutter here and do keep this place tidy along with your whole house. Regular cleaning and tidying is essential as the back area of your home is also a part of your home and any disturbances in energy here will have an effect on your personal as well as professional and financial life.

It is very important that most elevators lead up wards and they must rise above the ground and move up. If more of down going elevators are placed in any premises or especially near the entrance it will lead to losses, material and financial as well as staff problems. How to Select a Place for Office using Feng Shui

Selecting an office shop or flat for your business is most important for the success in your business and your financial position. The more your business runs and the more customers you get or the sales involved will increase your financial returns and effect your wealth and money aspect in your life. How can you use simple feng shui rules to select a good office that will be beneficial for your business and give good financial returns will be discussed in this post.

Whiles electing any premises for your new venture or business first consider what you want from this place? Are you in sales field where you need daily more customers who will come to your shop? Are you offering services like a doctor, specialized service will require specific clients and not crowded with any category of people. Have you considered the budget about purchasing the place or renting the shop and how you will go about this. Begin with positive energy as tensions in finances in the beginning will have an adverse effect on the financial returns from your venture.

Consider places that have curved paths that lead tot he premises or shop. Now here you have to think about the business you run, that is a shop owner of electronics may not require direct sunlight for most parts of the day a electronics need to be kept in dry and cool light.  Now a person selling groceries will require some sunlight daily at least for the entrance, to make positive energy here, whereas another example, of a doctor who will need a welcoming entrance but not direct sunlight for full day, whereas another service provider who works from flat may do away with artificial lights for most part of the day, which is cool. Feng shui means wind and water but how much? A gentle breeze is considered good and a smooth flowing stream or lake is good but gushing waters from drains is not good and blast of air is bad feng shui. The outside environment should be appropriate and be inviting for your customers, the client must have faith in your services as they see your office from outside and your entrance must be welcoming.

See the inside walls and lighting and windows also. There must be a balance in all elements if possible but if not this can be easily remedied by using feng shui simple cures. You can have plants near the entrance to bring in positive energy and try to avoid big trees that are directly in front of your main door of the office. This creates a shar which is not good for your business. and big branches of a tree that point directly towards your main entrance of office is not good, trim them and place a screen to block the negative view for your clients.

The road leading top your shop must not have garbage bins or stinking with flies and if you are providing health care services, or any other service provider , especially your client will be repelled to come inside as they will doubt whether you will be good if the outside environment is not welcoming.

Water facilities, sunlight, privacy and ventilation all are important aspects from feng shui point of view for selecting a good artist studio apartment. Keep small plants to act as energy up lifters in this small studio enclosure. Finally keep all the clutter free and all your work related tools and materials organized. This does not mean your artist studio is clean, spik and span, which according to f eng shui is good for your home where you need to relax, but here in your artist studio you need to get your creativity level high so keep things that will boost your creativity and encourage you to make good art. Comments and Art Critiques in our Lives How to deal with negative comments

Artists are a crazy lot, really I used to feel bad at first but I have accepted that we are a bundle of jangled nerves, eccentric, moody, gushing with energy, confused, aloof, social or loners but whatever the attributes I give to our identity we are a lot of happy souls!

As we create, that which was not existing before the brush loaded with paints splashes over our canvas, and we make great art. Critiques play a very important role in our lives. We are always in our own world and especially me, I am going all the way headstrong doing paintings without being affected by any one or any where. I do not know whether this is the right path I am following, my dreams, my emotions and my thoughts in this spiritual journey of discovery of my identity. I have never bothered to be affected by any body’s view point and do not understand whether this will affect my career in long term. Listening to my spirit guides is enough for me as I get the right guidance for the path to be followed, and well I am not complaining as the journey so far has been adventurous, challenging as well as nourishing to my body and soul.

In my early years there were tears, depression, sadness, mental blocks and frustration of not making beautiful art. Now I have understood that art is art, just art, let it be! I am as I am and I paint what I feel like. I like my healing art and believe in my symbols and the rest of the world can be of their opinion as they wish. The frustrated souls, the sick bodies all will be attracted to the healing emitted and I wish to heal the mother earth on this spiritual journey. Yes I have heard people doubt the power of symbols, the works have been commented as childish sometimes, the paintings have been termed as past time works and so on and so forhte, but you get over this gradually over the years and as the years pass you become more and more confident about your art and your style and as this happens the rest of the world begins to notice.

Though I do not say that critiques are not an important part of our lives, as they make us grow, not only as artists,  but also as good artists and human beings. There is no right or wrong in art and no ugly or beautiful, all art is great and all works are beautiful babies, a part of every artist’s soul. The passion and the desire to make art is only fired up by any new comments and critique statements. So just continue making art , and do not get carried away by critique comments be it good or bad as every one has a right to their opinion, and happy journey to all artists around the globe,  I wish just in case we meet we meet for art!
