Feng Shui and Feelings of Imbalance in the Resale House

Sometimes the entry to a new home is not so successful as the purchase makes us feel. The inmates may feel insecure, sick, argumentative and even face financial losses. One of the reasons may be the past history of the seller of the flat. Feng shui comes for guidance to balance this imbalance and transmit positive feelings.

On purchase of a new home or an resale flat one has to undergo certain procedures for purification of that area. As in many religions people feed the poor and perform religious puja and reciting of prayers it is advisable to purify the area of the past energy. Especially if it is a resale house then the energy of the past inmates still lingers there. Try to find out the history of the previous owner before purchasing a resale flat. If the owners had financial problems, were mostly sick or bed ridden, had constant fights or even maybe depresed and quiet with no social life.
This all affects the present owner and their family. It is very much advisable to perform religious rites for purification of the house. Symbols can be hung for protection on every door especially the main door. Incense has to be burned daily for many months till the whole area is rid of negative energy. This is called as space clearing. Give away furniture and other possessions of the previous owner if they have had a negative history of death or sickness.

Colouring your resale flat before hand is also a very good cure to clear negative energy as the painters will scrub and brush all the walls and smoothen out all the walls. Cures can also be used in the career and fame area for protecting against the bad luck of the previous owners.

And of course it is much more important to be positive, healthy and have a nutritious diet. Keep away negative thoughts and please..please work hard to improve your finanncial status as Feng Shui is the energy that will only support your efforts and this is not 'the effort' to improve your financial status.

The negative view outside your home

When we purchase our dream home we select it with utmost care. What happens when suddenly you find a tall tower bang near your window after a few months of possession of your flat. This presents an unpleasant view and sometimes may emit negative energy towards your home. As many houses and tall buildings are coming up every where the point of privacy erupts in the mind of many and there is no solution to this as the builders are making maximum use of the available land. One has to correct this situation other wise it may lead to undue stress and effect negatively the peace of mind of the inmates.

Feng shui has very simple and effective cures for this situation which is faced by many nowadays. One can utilize plants very effectively here and they act as a barrier. Select tall foliage plants and grow them in containers. You will get the benefit of fresh air and healthy environment and also the view will be partially blocked from your window. Climbers and creepers can also be guided on your window grill for privacy from neighbours.

Hang beautiful coloured curtains which have a thick cloth to keep it in place. However please keep in mind that if the room is small it is best to avoid thick curtains as they may make the room appear more smaller and also block the sunlight. One of the best cures in feng shui is the use of mirrors. They reflect the bad and only allow positivity to enter the house. The bad image is reflected back and this is one of the most effective cures in feng shui. Crystals also can be hung near the window to reflect positive energy into the house.
Hope this helps!

Feng Shui and Paintings on War

Art is becoming a name in every household. Many of us are attracted to paintings of scenery and beautiful flowers. Some of us also like paintings that depict war or sad scenes and even sometimes a dried tree! each paintings connects with the viewer according to their individual experiences.
Many a times Feng shui consultants have noticed in many cases that one of the reason for fights and misunderstandings in the home lead to the paintings displaye din the house. Husband-wife or mother-in-law daughter-in-law bickerings are there every house but sometimes it may be the effect of negative emotions depicte din the paintings displayed on their walls.
Paintings of Mahabharata and Ramayana which have religious sanctity among the Hindus but still they depict war and misunderstandings. Paintings of war, drought, famine, destruction, floods, ruins, haunted mansions must be thoroughly avoided. Many of us are even attracted to paintings of raging bulls and elephants. These effect the emotions of the inmates negatively and they are always ready to fight.
It is advisable to select paintings that depict positive feelings and have bright or fresh colours. One can go in for beautiful sunrise landscapes, flower paintings, portraits of famous people and even symbolic paintinsg that depict hope and prosperity.

Feng Shui and Expenses - Water Element

Water is considered very auspicious in Feng shui. In fact it is termed as wealth and has to be taken and used carefully. Leakages and choked drains must not be taken lightly. Immediate repairing of leaking pipes helps to stop out flow of cash as unnecessary expenses.
Many people go on increasing their wealth but still the expenses go on increasing more than that. They are always in a tight spot regarding finance. On questioning and survey of their house most of the times it is seen that the water structures are weak. Either they have leaking pipes and continuous drip of water or the toilet is situated  under the finance and career area. Most of the problems regarding finance come down to this element which if not in harmony leads to undue financial pressures.
What if the career area or any other falls in this area. Well think according to the elements of that area. If it is south keep a tall plant to opposite the force of the big drain. If it is in south area try to balance the fire element using red decorative ornaments to recharge the place. Hanging a mirror also helps reduce the negative imapct of the toilet. Leakages and dripping pipes, rusted or broken water fixtures must be immediately repaired. Try to keep the drains and toilet lid always covered.
If any water structure is situated in career area always keep it clean and avoid stagnating water. Keep small fish tank to recharge this area for better job and career opportunities. One can also hang  paintings having water for great opportunities and increased wealth. Care must be taken to avoid water features in certain areas which are opposite of this element.

Feng Shui the Main Door

Feng Shui places a lot of importance on  the main door. The main door is considered the mouth or opening for the positivity and energy or 'CHI' to enter the home. If the main door has good feng shui then the inamtes of the home are happy, healthy and refreshed by entering the home. They get good sleep and are relaxed and comfortable. Also other people feel happy to be around such people. Whereas if the door has bad feng shui then the inmates suffer from health problems, financial problems and also sometimes seperation of spouses.and drain of energy.
When you notice different doors an attractive and clean door always leads us to enter the house. So it is with 'chi' or positive energy. Even this energy is attracted to move into the house and if the door is cluttered then it does not get place to enter the home and returns back.Always keep the front door clean and clutter free. Never keep shoes and slippers lying near the front door. Free the entarnce from shoe rack and other junk materials. Keep the front door attractive and in easy opening motion. The door must always open to the inside of the home. Some people even paint their main door red to make it attractive. But it is advisable to paint the main door according to the direction it is placed in following the  feng shui principles. A green and healthy plant will always enrich the environment and also make the front door attractive and appealing.
One can also hang wind chimes and other decorative hangings over the main door to make it attractive and inviting. Glass hangings are the best as they also reflect negative energies back from the main door.
Also consider hanging religious symbols if you are comfortable with it over the door for protection. Symbols that represent growth and protection can be placed above or on side of the main door. Put the name plate and flat number of the owner in bright colour as also light up the main door so that it is visible during the night.
In very simple words keep the door clean and attractive. Every one has different tastes and selections for decorating so always go with your personal choices rather than on someone else's advice. See what you are confortable with. Many feng shui consultants advice placements of symbols and cures which are overly priced but the clients go in for this to get their main door feng shuid. See what suits your own personality and nature otherwise I have seen many individuals who constantly see the hung symbols and feel uncomfortable and negativity but still continue having them because some one else said so!

Feng Shui Practical Workable Cures for the South or Fame Area

The fame area according to the map of Feng Shui is located in the south. This can be calculated using the indicator compass for directions. All the directions are divided into eight parts. East, West, North, South, North east, North west, South east and South west. The house can be thought of as a square area and these directions located.
Fame

Usually we go in for decorating the house according to our likes of artifacts and furniture. Sometimes it is observed that the new home or the new renovation brings about negative influence on our career and name. If it is observed according to Feng Shui usually the problem points to the fame and career area. The south area is the fame area which when positively charged leads to prosperity and good name in the work or business of the family members. Whereas if there is a bathroom or major drainage or leakages in this area it leads to person getting bad reputation and major losses in business.
If there is such a problem it is best to relocate the bathroom as this is the major hole where all the money goes down the drain. As it is Feng shui promotes to always keep the toilet lid closed and drains covered. If this is not possible consider growing a big plant that moves upward, is strong and balances the wood aspect for the south area. Keep the door of the toilet always closed. Hang big mirrors and place a very good scenery of mountains and green plants that help to focus on the positive image. Leakages must be immediately repaired and drainage pipes can be concealed by a painting or some artifact or sculpture that leads the eye away from the negative image. If there is water kept in this area please move it to some other direction, better in the north to improve the career and opportunities area.
Red coloured objects or paintings of flowers and green plants can enhance the positivity of this area. Also consider hanging your certificates and honours on the south wall for more improvement and progress in career and also recognition in your field. Try lighting a small candle or diya to remove the negative influences of poison arrows in this area. Please consider the safety of the family and environment before following any cures.

Plants as a Cure in Feng Shui

Plants are a healthy way to enliven our living space and freshen up the atmosphere. Ever wondered that these same plants have an important role in clearing negative energy and blocking poison arrows. Negativity coming from neighbouring environment or noisy neighbours can be blocked by placing tall and foliage plants near our entrance. The plants lead our visual contact to them and thus we avoid the negativity coming towards us.
Remember that tall plants must not be a hindrance in the main door way. Consider even spiky plants that are a no-no in Feng shui but are proved to be the best cures to ward of evil energies. The thorns and spikes absorb the negative energy from the environment. Never keep thorny plants very close to self as any one may get hurt. Placing plants under a beam helps to balance the energy in the room. Never sleep or sit under a beam. Plants must not be used in bedroom as is mentioned by many Feng Shui experts. I feel small ornamental show plants can be placed to give a fresh outlook to our vision. May be it would be best to avoid big pots and plants as water and mud may become a breed of mosquitoes.
Plants can be placed anywhere and everywhere ..just keep in mind the utility of the place and the size of pot along with the plant.
Many wholesalers nowadays sell contemporary pots and ornamental plants that can enliven our environment. For using plants as a cure in Feng Shui think COLOUR and try to balance according to the map of five elements. For the children's study room if it faces the outside road or noisy peeping neighbopurs plants can be placed to block the noise and prying eyes of the outsiders. Even placing spiky plants helps to block negativity coming from drainage pipes and unpleasant views from the window.
Just go ahead and plant some good greenery around and in your house and do your bit for the environment!

Importance of Mirror in Feng Shui

Mirrors play a very important role in Feng Shui. Since time immemorial mirrors have been an important part of our lives. Elders used to advise to keep the mirrors always clean. This is understood now well because we see our reflection in the mirror and if it is unclean we see a dull and distorted image. This reflects on our mood and thinking and we feel depressed.
In Feng Shui it is always advisable to keep the mirror sparkling clean. This brings in positivity and helps reflect the negativity back. Never keep broken or dirty mirrors in the home as they reflect a distorted image of the viewer. Hang the mirror where sunlight can be reflected as this helps purify the mirror and it is charged with positivity. Keep an beautiful plant or artifact that reflects from the mirror and avoid dead plants or withered flowers reflecting from the mirror. One can hang a beautiful painting of fresh flowers or landscape that is soothing to the eye to reflect behind the mirror.
Mirrors are an eye of our soul and we always wish to get positive vibes from this. Being healthy and free of negative thoughts reflects in our image in the mirror and this in turn affects our mood for the day and in the long run also our whole lives. Hence always keep beautiful and clean mirrors and take care of where you hang it and what it reflects back.
Many decorated and fancy mirrors are available in the market and one has the choice of contemporary or traditional designs for a mirror. Always consider the size of the room and where it is to be hung before purchasing a good mirror. Feng Shui indicates that one must take care of what is placed behind the mirror. If the image is good it will reflect positivity whereas if the mirror reflects broken and leaking walls or dried and dead plants then it has an bad effect on the viewer and the inmates of the house. Mirrors are also used as powerful  cures for protection from negativity.

Clearing Negative Energies and Feng Shui

Clearing negative energies is the most important aspect that helps to create a peaceful and enriching environment. Many a times we feel that our energy is drained, we feel tired easily and there is lot of stress due to certain problems or individuals in our lives. Feng shui suggests that there are negative energies everywhere as there is positive.
Whenever there is an argument or bad incident in the home or maybe we had a bickering boss or neighbour we are stressed and we carry the negative energy with us. This drains our energy and we keep on thinking about the same negative incidents. It is very much im[ortant to balance the energy of the house and bring it back to positive.
1) Burning incensce is the best and easiest cure to ward off evil and negative energies. Close all door and windows and burn incense. Let the smoke cover and move to all nooks and corners of the house. After some time make the intention that all negative energies are burning and then open all the doors and windows to let out negativity and bring in positivitity. Let the fresh air circulate in the whole house and feel the results.
2) Mopping the house with salt water. It is advisable to take pinch of rock salt and wipe all the floors with this water. This can be done everyday or once in a week depending upon the problems faced by the i9nmates in the house.
3) Clearing clutter is one of the best ways to clear negativity and also free our mind for progress. Often we feel stuck up in home or business and our career does not show any psitive growth. Clear all things that have not been used for more than five years. Think of what you need and clear away extra goods or give in charity. Once you do this the things that have occupied space in our minds and made us live in pressure are released. We feel light and our mind is open to new ideas and this results in progress and getting new opportunities and moving on from the stuck up feeling.
4) Plants are also a very good cure to remove negativity. Placing healthy plants like bamboo or any other indoor plant helps to enliven our environment and also makes the air fresh. The groth of a plant helps us overcome negative feelings and gives peace.
5) Painting are also a very simple cure that can help remove negativity. Looking at happy and bright paintings helps to relax the mind. Flowers, beautiful landscapes and cute animals or birds help us to focus on the painting picture and we feel relaxed. Every individual must select paintings that they feel comfortable with and would like to observe over the years every day. Colours that give us peace and relaxation can be selected while considering buying a painting.
6) Symbols can also be displayed to protect ones home from negative influences. It can be a religious symbol or some thing representing like a dragon, in Feng Shui  for protection .

Feng Shui and Balancing the Five Elements

Feng shui is the science of placement of furniture balancing the five elements to bring about peace, success and prosperity. It has been going on since the past many years but has come in the lime light throught he past few years. One can follow the five elemnets positive cycle to understand feng shui better. It is very simple and anyone can act on simple cures for the  problems faced in their lives. It is not a religion and can be followed by anyone of any religion as this does not require any rituals or do not have any dieties.
The five elements Earth, metal, water, wood and fire have to be well balanced in a positive cycle to bring peace and prosperity of the inmates of the house. Simply considering objects or paintings having certain colours representing these elements also helps harmonize the energies of that area. One can follow the map of five elements to understand which colours and objects correspond to that area. e.g for the south area it is advisable to hang paintings of red , orange or bright colours to correspond to the fame area. So also the north that represents the career and growth can be balanced by placing objects of metal or having blue colour paintings in that area that represent water element.
The misconception that feng shui requires major breaking and renovation work to balance or harmonize energies is false. One can follow simple cures without major changes and see the positive results. A good consultant will always consider the personal choices and requirements of each individual before prescribing any cures for problems.
