How Important is it to Meet an Artist in Person - by Rizwana Mundewadi

How important is it for an artist to meet other artists in person.

In the year 2000 when I had first displayed my works in group shows had I met few artists in person, though as I was amateur with my art I did not even talk much, than the usual talk!
After a decade visiting the hill station Manali Himanchal Pradesh Roerich  Art Gallery it was another new experince in my life, meeting a spiritual artist who was doing symbolic artowrks, "Dhwani, or spiritual sound" was his theme, he had done huge artowrks and it was a treat to my eyes and my soul, though I still do not connect personally to anyone, why i do not know.?why do I become just another viewer and though I like the art but when I move ahead I just forget about it. It is a different genre, different from my journey, different from my thought processes...why do I lead a simple life, think in simple terms, and enjoy in the little things ...
Why do people always visit galleries. When I began I was advised to visit galleries, meet artists, learn about public response, see what is in demand...but over a decade I have been painting in a corner , secluded without much social contact, with my daily spiritual routine, reiki, music therapy, prayers,studying colours, textures, smell of paint, experimenting my personal journey continuing without much ho ha, and of course painting just what I like. On paper, on canvas as my budget permits and even on small bits and pieces! selling was never on my mind and still not when I paint as I paint for myself and diplay the artwork everytime I make a new one and enjoy how it looks, how it feels and how it communicates with me. I enjoy the healing process with always feelings of happiness and satisfaction, and wait when my babies will get a new home where they will spread their message of healing... spreading the message is important.
now I do sometimes see other people's art online when they invite or post on face book but that is that and even if I like it it never comes up when I paint.I am influenced by colours and as people fall in love I fall for attractive colours! good bright, fresh, pure colours, Somehow I feel each artist is different and even though many have painted on enlightenment we see each artwork totally different, there are rose paintings but totally different and there are Buddha paintings but totally different. there are landscapes, there are still life's ...that's the beauty of art!
I totally agree that we have to keep upgrading , learning, emerging, evolving and other wise we will become boring and stagnant as a person and as an aritist. Talking about art is also necessary as we become more confident about our art and as we open for communication we invite and link to more buyers which in the end matters for every artist.Writing has become another passion after painting and my life is full...so much to paint ..so much to write...so little time...

As we enter any house our first impression is made by the entrance and the main door. here feng shui places a lot of importance on the main door and there are  many feng shui tips and cures for the main door to protect the inmates from negative energies and invite good luck, good health and prosperity. How does the size of the main door influence your personal, social and professional life according to feng shui?
In feng shui the house is very very important. It is just like our body. Resemble your house in terms of your body. The main door is the mouth, the living room you head and the center your stomach, each room and area corresponds to a part of your body and keeping clean this area and activating this area will help heal all problems in your body and life in general.

Feng shui cures for big or small main doors of house or offices- The main door must be proportionate to the size of your house. If this is not the case,  an easy cure for this is to use mirrors or wall hangings. Feng shui places a lot of importance on lights and as we know any coloured light will activate the area and increase its positive energy there are a few simple rules to follow when using and selecting lights for your buildings, gardens and homes.
With latest light fixtures available in all colours the customer has a wide range of choice from which to select. Not only does your interior designer select different shapes of lamp shades they also select different colored lights, like pink for the bedroom, yellow golden light for the gardens and the dimmers for making the whole atmosphere relaxing or energizing as the need be.In feng shui buildings also having lights on top is auspicious. The open common terrace not only is made bright during nights it is also an important safety measure for protection against theft and any mishaps. People often read a few feng shui books and select colored lights to activate corners in their home or office, which is not the same for every case. Red colored lights may be good for the entryway or above your house number to attract positive chi into your home and your life but the same red lights above your buildings and towers is very dangerous and harmful. In fact I prefer to avoid using any red lights in home or doorway or even the south!
In feng shui principles Chinese people offer red lights, burn incense and candles,  to the dead and it gives an appearance as if there are candles lit for the dead. Not only does red light indicate stop in our traffic signal, it is also a symbol for danger on any hazardous material or object. The buildings having red lights on their towers and terraces will always be under pressure and fear. The inmates of such societies will not only suffer in relationships but also feel undue pressures in finances as the burden of red above their heads will, be a constant reminder of danger lurking above. Gardens having red lights will always indicate danger and will not fulfill the purpose of relaxation and enjoyment  for the people staying there.
You may activate your south corner with any coloured lights as the intention is to improve the chi here, and any coloured light will do the purpose. As far as the main door feng shui is concerned you may select golden or yellow light instead of red lights above your door. And that too there is no need if your common lobby has enough lights, please do not waste electricity, each one is answerable....

There are beautiful colourful flowers of red, pink, blue, peach and yellow and shaded variety, just what I had read in the book ' Monk who sold his Ferrari' by Robin Sharma the acclaimed leadership guru and a healer and guide to many. The book has unfolded many mysteries and created an image of the monks from mountains of the Himalayas to live in a hut surrounded by colourful fragrant roses. The painting "Red Pilgrim' by Rizwana mundewadi is only a simple representation of the monks living away from this world and leading a spiritually fulfilling life.As I had painted this painting years back , looking at these very sights has brought feelings of enlightenment and connection with  the whole universe. a feeling of completion, a whole, the missing part of the puzzle is complete.

Feng shui we are against breaking any forms of natural elements as this creates imbalance and my heart aches for the mountain which has been cut off, parts which are broken and blasts that may have wounded the white mighty dragon. but unless there were roads we would not have been able to reach the palce and enjoy the beauty of this majestic and graceful Rohtang.. The construction of roads is also harmful as the cut off parts of the mountain, white dragon, maybe its stomach will lead to financial problems, its mouth ,the feet of the mountains, will create problems for people living here. But with progress this all is essential and people have used feng shui cures for balancing  the energy.
With the balance of all five elements this place is sure charged with loads of positive energy.
God has a plan, his plans are way better than what we plan, when the student is ready the teacher appears!

Simple understanding of the Eight Auspicious Tibetan Symbols in Buddhism

The tantrik culture and Buddhism is prevalent in Tibet and China. Since ancient times the monks used to write scriptures on flags and tie it above the mountains or huts. They believed that the wind when blowing would take these symbols to many other places of the world and bring about peace and enlightenment everywhere. The five elements theory of balancing all the five elements when living,that is fire, wood, earth , water and metal , what we know today as the principles in feng shui existed even before we came to know about this. The basic principle behind this is living in harmony  with nature. peaceful existence with nature not harmign any element in way for progress.
There are eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism which were traditionally offered to teachers to transmit them to students and in healing rituals.Each symbol represents one of Buddha's teachings and when used all together their power is multiplied many folds. With these symbols appearing in most of my healing paintings along with Reiki symbols and Chinese Calligraphy I would like to give an simple explaination of these eight auspicious symbols.
1) Parasol- The Umbrella, symbolises royalty and spiritual power, protection from negative energies.
2) Gold Fishes, represent fertility and good fortune.Two fishes help to swim through the ocean of life problems smoothly.
3) Treasure Vase, a vase of inexhaustible treasures, spiritual and material abundance,   satisfaction from all material desires.
4) Lotus, denotes mental and spiritual purity and peace. The growing of lotus in muddied water symbolises the mind and soul growing from disturbances towards enlightenment.  
5)  Conch Shell represents the call for Buddha teachings, the symbol of enlightenment.
6) Endless knot having twined knots that are inter linked together also termed as  mystic knot as the beginning and end of the knot is not visible.
7) Victory Banner depicts victory of truth, peace and harmony over evil forces. Used to bring about victory in career, wealth and health and in fact all areas of life.
8) Wheel, representing the never ending cycle of life learning, its movement in circular direction, never ending indicates spiritual growth and learning of Buddha principles and bringing about spiritual change.
The eight lucky symbols often termed as Ashtamangala are the most powerful symbols used to bring about harmony, luck peace and enlightenment. The qualities of Buddha are represented by these eight auspicious symbols.
In some places the eight auspicious symbols are also depicted as symbol bearing Goddesses holding each symbol termed as Tashi-Lhamo Gyal in Tibet an culture, The Ashtamangala Devi in sanskrit. Each Goddess is seen holding a symbol and is decked with jewels and ornaments.

My latest painting has a form of green figure, is I think the Green Tara a Goddess in female form which I will write about later on. Paintings come first and later on the explainations...

How to make at Home Feng Shui Money Tree a Sure Wealth Cure

Money is one aspect of your life which every individual desires and as all our life needs require money we all need to activate our money and wealth luck. There are many feng shui cures and tips to activate your money and wealth luck but the easiest and simplest is the money tree.

The money tree means that the tree has money growing on it. Now we all know money does not grow on trees but it is symbolic gesture and has been an effective feng shui cure for many. The feng shui cure of money tree has given very good results to activate your wealth and money luck and see the money rolling into your life.

Instead of going out and buying a money tree which may not fit into your decor you can make a simple money tree in your house and which will be more effective than the ready made money tree. You need a tree branch of a real tree, wood is a Great element to activate money luck. The tree having many branches is good. Paint this according to the element be it red, black or brown or even shiny metallic colour to give it good finishing and appearance according to your home decor. If this is not available you can also use metal wire to make your money tree. Even metal is a good element and can active your wealth area south east.

How to make feng shui money tree at home

Use Chinese feng shui good luck coins or any metal coins of your chosen currency. Remember the coins must indicate wealth and shiny coins are best. Tie the coins on the branches of your tree in any pattern of numbers , even your lucky feng shui number for prosperity. You can activate chi by tying the coins with red shiny ribbons and use the mystic knot that is a lucky auspicious symbol. You can also buy readymade Chinese good luck coins that are already tied with red ribbons.

Purify the place where you will put the money tree by burning incense and then place your personalised money tree here. Do make clear intentions of increasing wealth and activating your money luck while using this feng shui cure. You can also use paper notes or currency that you are comfortable with, but remember the money used must symbolise wealth and richness. Avoid using rusty antique coins is also good but coins that have low money value or indicate less wealth must not be used in money tree as the value of attracting however much money of less value will give you less total money.
