 Storing objects and things above cupboards is a sight we all have seen since childhood. From mattresses to festive clothes' to bags everything is stacked above the cupboard! explaining the energy and what effects this has on your life in this post. Symbolism of things above cupboards has its feng shuii hidden meanings which is never discussed. Is it good feng shuii to store old things above cupboards? First let me explain the energy of stored things in house. When you do not need things like old or extra mattresses, travelling bags, children's toys, old clothes that do not fit or children have outgrown and people tend to tie these in packets and store it above cupboard. The tendency is that we are utilizing that empty space instead of the precious space in cupboard that is required for daily use things storage. What happens then? those things attract dust, spiders, dust mites, bed bugs, and clogging feng shuii negative energy. In daily hustle bustle of life these above cupboard things are never cleaned or though off. Maybe once in a year of during festivals these things are cleaned and again they go back there.  

Now the most dangerous part of such actions , storing things above cupboard is that whenever any one falls sick those energy particles get stuck in such stored objects. and then you will notice people frequently falling sick and not getting better, leading to chronic sickness and diseases. 

Then another important effect is when there are any arguments in home that energy too finds place in such objects. Negative energy ions or particles are always in search of places to rest, hence in feng shuii we follow the principle of minimalism and objects to be kept less according to specific needs only, and well cared for. 

And what happens when someone comes with strong negative energy intentions and glares or produces and evil eye to the family...such energy gets stuck up in nooks and corners and especially in stored objects above cupboards.

Next negative effect is that the person sleeping beside the cupboard is always uneasy and fearful. practically yes, because there is fear that anything might fall over the sleeping person, so danger is of course understood. Even if the bed of couple sleeping is away from the cupboard whenever they see the stored objects or large packets above cupboards it brings an energy of burden over them. they feel life pressures as if they always are burdened with responsibilities, financial pressures and relationships become a burden to carry on. 

Now when the question comes in today with small homes and less space for storing things, in such cases is it ok to store things above cupboards? 

Basically it is better to avoid this but if you have less space and no option then you can do this with some precautions. Sharing practical tips and some feng shuii.

1) avoid storing sharp and heavy objects above cupboard. Beddings, clothes are ok as they are soft and will not harm anyone even if they fall. 

2) make sure to safely pack things before storing. Cardboard Boxes that are sealed well are safer than hand tied cloth packings that cannot stop spilling of things from inside. 

3) If Suitcases and bags are used to store objects above cupboards then  see that they are stacked neatly and well balanced. 

4) Regularly keep a check on these things. Maybe once a month at  least to keep the energy clean and moving. 

5) If things have not been used for many years, it is advisable to let them go. Give them for charity or hand them to someone who will use them instead of storing them above your cupboard for many years.

6) Never store heavy objects above cupboard as they will damage your furniture. And in few months you will notice the cupboard doors making creaky noises and getting stuck...that is very bad feng shuii for your house wealth.

7) Purification of this space is of utmost importance. We don't want negative shar energy stuck up of evil eye, sickness, hate, anger, jealousy accumulated there to have negative effects on your family. After cleaning the packets you can clean the cupboard top with mild slat water and then clean water, burn some incense, let the place breathe. That is allow the space to be empty for some time so that it can breathe with positive chi. Then after few hours you can store the packets again. 

Try to avoid storing things and objects above cupboard but if you don't have option do follow the practical suggestions I have advised. Remove all unwanted and sparingly used items and you will find your home chi super beautiful and money health wealth relationships flowing easily with joy.
